And yet, Hypocrisy...
It has been a long time since I last "fought" any 'cause' also since I got to know (also since I've changed) how the Universe works (at least a tiny little bit), because I know that "whatever you resist, persists", by experience, if by nothing else. This means that one gets the exact opposite expected and wanted effect once momentum is created by action (not to mention the waste of energy and decrease of Frequency it represents).
This said, I'm not here to " fight" anything more than I'm here to share my disappointment concerning Bart Baker.
For those of you who don't know, Bart's a north-american artist who for a living (so I believe) creates video parodies of popular songs (or pseudo-songs) and their music videos (YouTube). Consequently his channel is very popular as well.
Because personally I've always had a sarcastic type of humor and sense of humor his videos always amused me a lot (I would even share his videos occasionally), also because besides the amusement I truly believed that Bart was doing some kind of public service by exposing the decadent side of the music industry, whenever that was the case. Due to this Bart has an according group of haters because we know how humor and Comedy is a very delicate, personal subject - one joke can be funny for one and imoral, offensive for other, but that is exactly what I find interesting about Comedy (besides the obvious) - its hability to report and expose the ridicule whenever it is the case. I believe that that helps to the social consciousness, therefore I believe that the lack of sense of humor says a lot about social consciousness and at last, about our own lack of self-consciousness.
This all being said today I'm sharing with you, readers, the most recent Bart Baker parody, not because I personally find it imoral (at least not more than the original video that inspires it, for sure), quite the opposite - precisely because it nails what the original truly represents - the decadence and lack of values by the main rolers of the video, to the degree that it almost isn't funny because it is so obvious and linear. And yet that is not where I'm trying to get.
My real point is that I noticed that lately Bart kind of excuses himself for his videos (at the end of them)!
He even ends up defending the artist(s) and the songs (in songs and artists where that simply makes no sense) which makes it all even more contradictory and leaves me with this thought: 'why is he making the videos in the first place, then?'... Plus whoever doesn't like or gets the jokes won't like or get them no matter what one says anyway, correct, so why bother?
Above all things I respect a person that assumes her choices and acts, despite those being good or bad, better or worse.
Someone conscious, and it couldn't be any other way because I personally defend personal Authenticity. I believe the lack of it is one of the causes of so much issues and traumas, but that is a whole different topic...
Therefore I can only deduce that either there are lobbies involved, either Bart collapsed upon the fear of a potencial 'something' coming from those haters groups or even from the artists he jokes about, which is a shame and again, a disappointment for me.
I really found Bart really good at what he does and like I said, his job one of service for social consciousness (in this case also cultural one), which again is the kind of Work I'm personally very interested in.
In conclusion: I had to be coherent with myself and me defending so much that Authenticity concept, I had no choice but to unsubscribe Bart's channel, shamely.
I really wish that I get to find that Bart ended the excuses, lobbies or cowardice and whatnot that took him and that he gets to assume his job again in the near future, but until then he can't count on me anylonger to follow and support him and I have to leave him with my disaproval of his (total lack of) attitude.
